The general organisational structure of Sharjah Digital Department (SDD), approved pursuant to an Emiri Decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, marks an important institutional milestone that reflects SDD’s evolving role and strengthens its readiness to deliver the objectives of the Sharjah Digital Transformation Strategy 2026–2028, in line with the priorities of the next phase.
The organisational structure has been designed to reflect SDD’s expanding mandate and growing responsibilities in leading and enabling digital transformation across the Emirate. It establishes a more agile organisational framework that enhances integration across SDD’s sectors, improves operational effectiveness, and supports the timely delivery of digital initiatives, strengthening SDD’s ability to enable government entities to achieve their digital priorities.
H.E. Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of Sharjah Digital Department, said: “The approval of the general organisational structure marks an important milestone in the journey of SDD and reflects the evolution of our role in leading digital transformation across the Emirate. It provides us with a more agile and effective organisational framework that strengthens our ability to deliver our strategic priorities, accelerate execution, and continuously enhance the way we operate in line with the requirements of the next phase.”
H.E. added: “The organisational structure has been designed to support SDD’s expanding mandate and evolving responsibilities through a more integrated distribution of functions and enhanced capabilities across digital services, digital infrastructure, data and artificial intelligence, and the development of national talent. This strengthens our execution capabilities and ensures we are well positioned to deliver on the priorities of the next phase.”
H.E. emphasised that the next phase requires an institutional model that combines agility with robust governance, fosters innovation, invests in national talent, and strengthens partnerships, reinforcing digital transformation as a sustainable approach to modernising government operations and enhancing the quality of government services.
The general organisational structure lays the foundation for SDD’s next phase of growth by establishing a more agile and integrated operating model that strengthens institutional capability, enhances organisational effectiveness, and reinforces SDD’s ability to deliver Sharjah’s digital transformation priorities.
